Every class gives you a certificate. Not every class leaves you capable.

Your certification is the reason you booked, and you should get it without hassle. But a lot of training is built to move people through the requirement and no further. Classes are large and hands-on time is limited. So you walk out holding the card, unsure you could use what is behind it.

Knowing about something and being able to do it are not the same. That gap does not show up until the moment it matters.

For your family

The person closest to an emergency is usually the one who has to act. Most of the time, it is someone they love.

For your workplace

Compliance covers you on paper. It does not tell you whether your team would know what to do on the floor.

For your equipment

An AED on the wall only works if someone nearby is confident enough to take it down and use it.

What you get from a Red Cross CPR class with us

A full Red Cross certification

The same two-year American Red Cross certificate issued anywhere in the network. It is recognised by employers nationally and accepted for OSHA and workplace requirements.

Training and AED equipment in one place

AEDs, trauma kits and first aid supplies from the same people who taught you to use them. Being prepared becomes something that is handled, and stays handled, rather than one more thing to worry about.

Hands-on until you can do it

You practice on the manikin as many times as it takes, with an instructor beside you. Evenings at 6pm and monthly weekend mornings, or on-site at your workplace.

We know how unsettling it is to be the person everyone would turn to, and not be certain you would know what to do.

For some people that responsibility is personal. A new baby, an aging parent, the people they love and care for at home. For others it is professional, a team or a workplace they are trusted to keep safe. What they share is a sense of duty, and we treat every person who walks in as someone with a life to protect rather than a seat to fill.

We are patient, and we move at whatever pace you need. No one should feel rushed, or made to feel slow, while they are learning something this important.

Why we teach the way we do

At GRF Training, we know you want to be the person who can step in when someone needs you. You do not want to be the person who could only stand and watch. To do that, you need the certification and the real skill underneath it. The problem is that a lot of training is run to get people certified rather than genuinely ready. Classes are often large, rushed or impersonal, with limited hands-on time. As a result, you can pass and still walk away unsure you could actually help when it counted.

We believe that people, given the right skills and confidence, can be the difference between someone living and someone lost. We also believe being ready should be a necessity rather than a luxury. And a serious subject can be taught in a way that feels welcoming instead of frightening. That is why our Red Cross certified instructors stay hands-on with every person until they can save a life with confidence. They also keep the class warm and welcoming throughout, because that is how people learn and remember.

Here is how it works. First, pick a class from our schedule in Maywood, Lodi, Dumont, Highlands or Highland Lakes. Or have us come to your location. Then train hands-on with an instructor who stays with you. Finally, earn your Red Cross certification and leave genuinely able to use it. Book your class today.

Our work is to close the gap between holding a certificate and being truly ready. That way, you can stop hoping an emergency never happens and start knowing you would be ready if it did.

What people ask before they take a class with GRF Training

Common Questions
Do I need any medical background?

No medical background is required for GRF Training’s First Aid, CPR and AED classes.

They’re built for people with no clinical training. Most people who walk in have never done chest compressions before. You’re shown how, then you practice, and there’s an instructor with you while you do it.

GRF Training students practice CPR and AED skills on mannequins, and life-threatening bleeding skills on limb trainers.

The choking skill is the one practiced with a partner. If you’d rather not, there’s a no-contact version. Just say so on the day.

Every American Red Cross class at GRF Training requires passing a hands-on skills test. Basic Life Support taught in person also requires passing a written exam.

If you can’t complete a required skill or testing scenario, you’re given the option to reschedule your class.

GRF Training runs one instructor for every 12 students, and there’s no cap on class size.

Bigger groups get more instructors rather than less attention. Whatever the size of the room, somebody is watching you practice.
